Tolaga Bay is a popular holiday destination especially over the summer months with great beaches, diving and fishing.

Tolaga Bay was visited and named by Captain James Cook in l769. It is an area rich in history.

The area is also famous for the having the longest wharf in the southern hemisphere at over 600m long. The Cook's Cove walkway is a popular 5km walk, commanding outstanding views overlooking the Bay and also takes in the Cove where Cook anchored so many years before.

The coastal highway is a popular tourist route, travelling around the Coast to the Bay of Plenty.
